SPEAKERS

Veronica McInerney BL is a barrister specialising in general practice, personal injuries litigation, tort, constitutional and medical law. Veronica graduated with an LLB honours degree from the University of Limerick in 2008 and thereafter, commenced a Ph.D there. Veronica has lectured in the areas of European Union law and administrative law to undergraduate LLB students and has lectured on the Kings Inns and FE1 preparatory courses at Independent Colleges for several years. Veronica also lectures in company law at Trinity College, Dublin.

 

Anthony Thuillier BL Anthony is a barrister specialising in commercial, insolvency and defamation law. Anthony has published Company Law in Ireland (2nd ed., Clarus Press, 2015) and Business Law in Ireland (Clarus Press, 2015). He has lectured in company law in DCU, DIT, Independent Colleges and lawschool.ie, and taught common law at Humboldt University, Berlin and Technische Universitat, Dresden. In 2015-2016 Anthony was retained by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to advise on its Report on Corporate Enforcement. Anthony is part of the pre-publication team for the Irish Daily Star. 

 

Seán O’Dea, Associate, McCann Fitzgerald Solicitors Seán is an associate in the Competition, EU, Regulated Markets and Trade Law Group at McCann FitzGerald Solicitors.  Séan has co-authored a series of publications relating to EU law issues, including Brexit, State aid and merger control.  Seán has a BCL from UCD and an LLM and a Graduate Diploma in Finance from LSE.

 

Aideen Burke, Associate, LK Shields Solicitors Aideen is an associate in the IP IT Department at LK Shields Solicitors and has experience in a wide range of matters relating to Media, Technology and Intellectual Property.  Aideen also has experience advising on film and TV finance, production and distribution rights, ownership, protection and exploitation, e-commerce, and defamation.  Aideen has recently returned to Dublin, having previously worked for a number of years as a solicitor in London. Aideen is a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 for ‘TMT – Media and Entertainment’.
