As you will be aware, The Continuing Professional Development Scheme 2013 booklet (the “Booklet”) provided by the Law Society of Ireland provides information in relation to your CPD requirements. It is worth noting that the minimum requirements can be summarised as follows:
CPD Cycle
| Year |
CPD Req |
Min Management & Professional development skills |
Min Regulatory Matters |
| 2013 |
14 hours |
3 hours |
1 hour |
| 2014 |
15 hours |
3 hours |
1 hour |
| 2015 |
16 hours |
3 hours |
1 hour |
The balance overall minimum CPD requirement can be met from general CPD or additional hours in the categories of (i) management and professional development skills and / or (ii) regulatory matters. Please remember that CPD cannot be claimed for a second or further attendance on the same course of CPD in any one CPD cycle – the only exception to this is a solicitor giving a repeat lecture / training session through group study (group study set out on page 8 of the Booklet).
We hope you find the above guideline useful in ensuring that you have met and continue to meet your CPD requirements and look forward to seeing you at future DSBA and DSBA Younger Member CPD events!
