5 Things to look for when getting a Website

Many of today’s solicitors firms have websites to illustrate their areas of expertise and highlight the particular skills of their people. Here are 5 things Webtrade say are crucial when thinking of making the jump:

  1. Sit down with the web development company and work out a simple, yet intuitive design in keeping with your firms corporate image
  2. Make sure that you can edit the site yourself – insist on having the new site developed using what’s known as a content management system. Once the site is built you will need to be able to easily edit its content rather than relying on IT people for updates
  3. Employ a web company that is au fait with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) – when people type key words into, say Google, that your site will rank towards the top of the list
  4. Ensure that you receive a value for money package that includes the website’s hosting, statistics, unlimited warranty, email accounts & continuous software upgrades.
  5. Look at the functionality of other sites that you admire – is there anything additional you’d like your site to do? Do you need a mailing list or perhaps a restricted area for clients & their case material? What about pages in Polish or Chinese?

If you are interested in talking to someone about starting up a website, Webtrade have a specially designed package especially for DSBA members at a special price of €3,000.
