SPEAKERS

 

Alison O’Sullivan, Partner ByrneWallace, specialises in property law with an emphasis on property issues arising from insolvent borrowers. She qualified as a solicitor in 2003, joined the firm in 2007 as an Associate in the Property Department and was promoted to Partner in 2012. Alison has significant experience in acting for developers, landlords, tenants and investors.  In recent years, much of her work has been based on insolvency related transactions with particular focus on receiver sales and lettings, mortgagee sales and portfolio reviews for banks and for NAMA.  In addition, Alison advises NAMA and Bank appointed receivers and banks generally on property related issues arising with insolvent borrowers.

 

Michael Walsh is Head of the ByrneWallace Property, Construction and Procurement Group and is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s leading real estate lawyers. Michael has unrivalled recent experience in retail-focused development and he has also acted in a number of high-end investment transactions. Michael has strong experience also in the property asset management and hotel management sectors. Michael is a member of the Law Society Conveyancing Committee and is a contributing author to the first and second editions of the Law Society's "Complex Conveyancing" manual.

 

Cathy Ronane is a qualified Solicitor and have worked in AIB Legal Department for 7 years. She also has extensive experience in the private sector. She advises AIB’s business and retail banking on, lending structures, property, security proposals, and company law.

 

Niamh O’Grady is a Consultant in the Real Estate Department in Mason Hayes & Curran. She advises on all areas of property law but specialises in residential development and has significant experience in setting up the sales structure for residential and mixed residential and commercial developments. She advises on the drafting of documentation relating to Owners’ Management Companies and service charge structures. Niamh also acts for a number of lenders and receivers in the sale of distressed properties either in bulk or individually.

 

Rosemarie Carr is a qualified barrister who is working on First Registration cases with the Property Registration Authority in the Legal Services Division.
