Use of the internet is growing exponentially, and practitioners need to be aware of the benefits and pitfalls of the internet, and how it can assist their business. The DBSA is delighted to offer this seminar dealing with website development, online marketing and how best to utilize social media for best professional result for your practice. A speaker from the office of the Data Protection commissioner will also give a broad overview of current data protection law and some areas that practitioners need to be cognizant of. This is a seminar for those who wish to increase their online marketing presence for best results in a cost effective manner, while also updating their knowledge of the data protection laws.

Ian Jackson from Go2web will speak on two topics on how to select a web designer and also online marketing for legal firms.

Eunice Delaney is from the office of the Data Protection Commissioner. She will speak on current legal issues from the perspective of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Brendan Walsh from Organic SEO Specialists - Brendan is a social media expert who will talk about social media and blogging and what works most effectively in the legal field.


SPEAKERS

Ian Jackson
Ian works with Go2Web, specialising in delivering website solutions, search engine optimisation, boosting website traffic, and online shops. Currently, he assists Go2web's clients to grow their businesses by harnessing the Internet, via well designed websites that generate real business opportunities. He recently presented at the Law Society Conference in 2011.


Brendan Walsh
Brendan is a partner with Organic SEO Specialists, focusing on “natural” search results and Social Media i.e. online promotion that is free to use. He also works with optimization of websites, keyword research, meta tags, textual content, media rich content, internal linking and navigation. He is an expert in backlinking, directory submissions, article and blog writing and distribution, Google Analytics and Webmaster (sitemaps and video sitemaps). Brendan also works on clients Social Media presence and help them promote themselves via social media, not only assisting in social media marketing but he trains staff in how to effectively use social media for self-promotion.
