Maitiú O’Dónaill will give an overview of the legislation that has very recently been implemented concerning Multi-Unit Developments. Its aim is to look at the provisions as set out in the MUD Act and to assess the duties and obligations that are now imposed on multi-unit developers & solicitors.

SPEAKERS

Maitiú O’Donaill
Maitiú O Dónaill is a partner in the Commercial Property Department of Beauchamps Solicitors. He acts for a wide range of private and institutional developers, financial institutions, receivers, liquidators, local authorities, state agencies and public bodies and commercial tenants. Maitiú has particular experience in multi-unit developments both residential and mixed use. Maitiú is currently advising the Housing & Sustainable Communities Agency in relation to implementation of the tenant purchase scheme for local authority housing set out in Part 4 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2009. Maitiú has been recognised in Chambers for his work in the area of commercial property and construction law. Comments include: "great in terms of providing definitive analysis and advice". Joe Wyse, MIPFMA
Joe Wyse is Chairman of Wyse Property Management Limited. It was founded in 1980; the company has grown to be Ireland’s largest residential property management company with a portfolio of over 22,000 units valued in excess of €40 billion under management. Joe previously worked in Bank of Ireland. He has wide experience in all aspects of property management including the corporate governance and administration of complex management schemes, and in drafting leasehold management covenants suitable for multi-unit residential and mixed-use developments. He welcomes the MUD Act and looks forward to the Property Services Regulation Bill 2009 being enacted as soon as possible.

John McKone, MSCSI, MRICS, MIPFMA
John McKone is a Chartered Surveyor who has wor ked with London Borough of Richmond and HOK Savills prior to joining WYSE in 1996. He has over 20 years experience in property management and related services. John is a member of the IPFMA Residential Committee which has engaged with the Department of Justice, National Consumer Agency, NPSRA, Law Reform Commission and Office of Corporate Enforcement on the many issues and challenges facing multi-unit developments.
